teenStyle Issue 2: Sept/Oct 08

Well, it's out in all it's four- page glory. And as much as I couldnt' really stand Style, and the first issue of teenStyle was kind of an anti- climax, this one looks very promising, firstly because of the CoverGirl! It's writemarycat of Eternity Magazine, Mary Walkerson!

And it's all so pretty! Okay, we've still got that whole threesome of Kaya, Selena and Style there, but, oh! Pretty! I LOVELOVELOVE this cover! And I want that necklace!

I cna't wait to read the article written by Selena about Halloween fashion, British style. Maybe dressed as the Queen, or someone else British? Amy Winehouse? Victoria Beckham?

We'll have to wait and see!

teenStyle/ Issue 2, launch party!

So, teenStyle's launch party is in about half an hour, and I've prepared my outfit. The theme is a supposed "teen royalty" so I've chosen something quirky, but fun and colourful. Speaking of teen royalty, I bought Sophia Coppola's Marie Antoinette on DVD the other day. It's really good, full of 80s punk rock songs and amazing costumes! Anywhere, here's my outfit:


Cute, pscyhadelic mini- dress, very pucci- esque methinks! Coloured tights (winterberry!) and chunky black platforms, DKNY. Love-er-ly! Oh, and a freakin' awesome black bangle as an arm- cuff!

Best/ Worst Dressed @ teenStyle grand opening

There was plenty going on at the launch of teenStyle last night, the actual magazine not being one of them. Anywhoo, the fashions ranged from cute and pretty to bizarre and fugly. Here's my favourites... and least favourites.

BEST DRESSED:

Style_Magazine, hannah-denise (me!), model-selena

Style was wearing her signature monochrome and wasn't even really sticking to her own "teen flair" dress... but I still loved what she wore, which is saying something because usually she looks pretty hideous in her boring suits and silly ballgowns. Still- I wish she would sort her make-up out! The lipstick is awful!

Then there's yours truly in my grecian- inspired number doing what little I can with my small and limited wardrobe. I think I looked pretty good!

I really liked model-selena's outfit as well. The nude- beige dress is bang-on trend, and my only concern is the fact that she looks almost gift-wrapped and like a little parcel with the bow, but I let that pass. Shame about the birds nest on her head too...

RISKS THAT PAID OFF:

Britneys07, springate, chicago3

Britneys07 was certainly the belle of last night's ball and everyone was in awe at her stunning and unusual choice. Going for a "moulin- rouge" theme, I certainly think she looks divine, and I love the off- shoulder detail on her dress!

springate arrived fashionably late [although still not as late as the actual mag... well, front cover] and was sporting about 10 LBD's on top of one another. Did he pull it off? I think so, although the feather boa? Slightly trannylicious... but this is springate after all!

I wasn't convinced when I first saw chicago3's outfit. She was certainly begging people to take a look, but... yeah. It has grown on me, although I can't stand the little pink and grey bustier that's peeking out of the top.

RISKS THAT DIDN'T PAY OFF:

Kahlen08Heiress, Allison.Heart

Oh, Kahlen, Why? You are not a pirate! Sure, I love the trousers, and even the puffy- sleeved voluminous blouse. But the pirate vest? Why must you do that to yourself?!?! And don't get me started on the make-up and hair! Can you say hot mess...?

Allison.Heart has a good idea with the red Rose McGowan dress but she just can't pull it off. The clutch looks to informal with the dress... and underneath! Brown clunky platforms! Why!!!????

EXCLUSIVE!!! teenStyle!

We kind of actually like it, considering we had absolutely no hopes for it.

Shame Wordpress messed up and Selena and Style could add only the front cover, an hour late.

Still, the grand opening was was kept busy with deep talks on Heath Ledger, Marie Antoinette, Seth Rogen and Britney Spears!

teenStyle: grand opening

So, it has been announced. The grand opening for the highly- anticipated teenStyle is tonight at *gasp* 11pm!



Style announced it mere minutes ago, and, as usual she was completetly nonchalant and ice- queen scary. Anywhoo, many people are already complaining that its too late at night. Er.. so? Ok, 11pm is kind of a gay time to still be on your computer, but its not 11pm everywhere, considering the majority of Stardoll users live in the States where it will be late afternoon/ early evening.

Dress is formal, which means that Isabella.Arci will be layering all her evening wear one of top of another, and of course, Style will be in her usual monochrome. Hint for Style: You're not Anna Wintour!!!

It seems teenStyle is actually coming out on 2nd August by the time that party will take place.

Fashionably late... or just a snobby hot mess???

It's that time, yep, teenStyle comes out tomorrow.
I bet it'll be exactly the same as Style, over-rated and extremely boring, as well as pretentious and sniffy.
Of course, the graphics will be amazingly flawless, but to be honest, it'll probably just be a shit-load of fashion nonsense spouting from Model.Selena.

Even Vogue isn't as snobby as Style!

Will you read teenStyle?

So, it's been announced that there will be a new creation from Style_Magazine, imaginatively titled teenSTYLE (whoever saw that coming?). So, basically we have Style, a copy of Vogue, and now we have teenSTYLE, a copy of teenVOGUE. Excuse my stupidity for one second, but I was under the faint impression that the original Style magazine was already for teenagers. The fact that the Editor is only 18 years old kind of knocks that back on the head, don't you think?

But wait, there's more. Here comes the really good part. Every one's favourite pretentious piece of nonsensical garbage, Model.Selena is the Editor of teenSTYLE. Yes, that's right. She's best friends with Style_Magazine, has already been a CoverGirl when Style was relaunched at the beginning of the year and is even rumoured by some to be the same person. So, can we expect a just as poncy, snooty, and frankly, quite boring magazine, which is supposedly aimed at "teens"?

You bet.
